100 Push Ups and 90 Second Plank
I started the first of my monthly challenges on 1 January 2018, with Dry January.
As this went well, I decided to continue to set monthly challenges.
However, I feel a whole month might be too much of a stretch for some of the future challenges I have in mind.
Although I want to test myself, I really do want to complete the challenges.
So I’m starting a weekly challenge along side a monthly one.
For anyone else thinking about setting a challenge for themselves, a week might be more achievable.
In fact I would recommend starting with a week.
That way you build your confidence up, and gain a better understanding of what may be involved with a longer, monthly challenge.
My very first weekly challenge is going to be a physical one.
100 push ups a day (not in one go) and 90 seconds plank (in one go).
Trying to accomplish this for a whole month sounds too much.
Plus it’s my first weekly challenge, so I want something that is a little test, (100 push ups a day is pretty good going I reckon) but perfectly doable.
The plank was just an add-on because my wife decided she would join in, and that’s what she wanted to do!
Depending on what your own starting point is, this challenge could be very easy for you, or fekin impossible particularly difficult.
As long as I remember to space the push ups out, over the course of the day (20 each time), I will be fine.
If I forget, or for whatever reason I leave them to the end of the day, I’m going to struggle big time!
Here’s a video (sped up, so you don’t need to watch me doing nothing for 90 seconds!) of my first set of push ups, immediately followed by the plank:
I decided to get the plank out of the way, first thing in the morning.
I don’t intend to record every push up, as that would be veeeery boring viewing!
At least it shows you I’ve started.
I’ll let you know how I get on next week.
