My working week over the last seven days was quite varied, and my fitness challenge didn’t go exactly to schedule.
However, that’s life, and we need to adapt to changes.
My goals for the week were:
3 Days – The Happy Body Exercises | 4 Days – 100 Push-Ups, 2 Minutes Plank | 7 Days – 3 Pull-Ups
Initially I said I would complete the pull-ups every day, but for some reason I only did them on my push-up days.
No drama! It’s still a step forward.
Here’s what I actually did for the week:
Thursday
- Warm-up/stretch
- 3 x 30 push-ups
- 10 push-ups
- 3 pull ups
- 2 minutes plank
Friday
Happy Body (at work)
Saturday
- Warm-up/stretch
- 3 x 30 push-ups
- 10 push-ups
- 3 pull ups
- 2 minutes plank
Sunday
Went for a 5k run this morning at 0845
Monday
Went to gym this morning (at work)
- 2 x 30 push-ups
- 14 minutes on cross-trainer
- Seated shoulder press
- Flat dumbbell press
- Incline dumbbell press
- Weighted leg lunges
- Squats
- 3 pull-ups
Tuesday
Happy Body (at work) (Only 2 out of 3 sets)
Wednesday
- Warm-up/stretch
- 3 x 30 push-ups
- 10 push-ups
- 3 pull ups
- 2 minutes 15 seconds plank
Summary For The Week
Happy Body exercises – 2 sets (well 2 and three quarters!)
Plank = 6 minutes 15 seconds
Push-ups = 360
Pull-ups = 12
1 x Gym Session
1 x 5k run
Thoughts
Not a bad week.
I still struggle to get in three Happy Body workouts. This week I am starting with the Happy Body workout, so I should be able to complete three, during the week.
Overall I’m pleased with how my fitness is going.
I’ve started to incorporate a five minute morning, stretch & mobility routine, which I’m really enjoying.
By keeping an online journal, and documenting my efforts in this blog (even though no one is reading it yet!) I’m constantly aware of my daily fitness goals.
It’s definitely a big help and motivator.
Going Forward
It’s been five weeks since I committed to a weekly fitness challenge.
Despite some, “shall we say lapses?!”..it’s been a brilliant addition to my life, and I’m determined to keep going.
I want a solid week this week.
I feel strong and want to achieve and exceed my fitness goals.
I’m sticking to challenge No.3 for now, but will make sure I complete three pull-ups every day.
Let’s do this, mofo!
