Day 9 Thai time!

So off to Koh Lanta today at 11.30 – door to door mini van.

We enjoy a few hours at the hotel and our van appears at 11.40. We dive in – we are first..never a good sign.

Needless to say we pass our hotel again some 50 minutes later on way to get final travellers. Thai time. Driver is all toothy smiles.

Van trip is fine and we get to our hotel, or 3 mins walk past it anyway. Driver has no idea where he is.

We are welcomed with a panadan herb cold drink and shown to our wonderful villa. Massive bed, outside shower with birds singing, near the pool.

I shouldn’t be this excited about bath robes.

We are hungry and spot a cookery school with restaurant. Food is amazing. I have a cheeky cocktail. It’s 3pm.

We decide to explore Relax Bay.. we didn’t stay near here last time..OMG perfect..a few bars, few people and warm calm sea.

We find a spot for matcha tea and iced coffee, and a couple of beers, and watch the sunset.

As if the day couldn’t get any better, we top it off with a cool night pool swim under clear skies. We get it to ourselves. Bliss.

Day 10 Another hotel

This lush hotel has a gym and we make use of it before food.

In the shower a flock of storks or giant agrits fly over my head. And I watch a fluffy barking tree squirrel or chip monk in the garden. Pete plays football manager.

We have the best breakfast so far in our moderately over-budget hotel and relax for a few hours before moving to our next hotel.. not too far away.

We intended not to move about so much this time. But it’s so blummin costly and booked up because of Chinese New Year

We decide to book further ahead and manage to get 5 nights in a hotel with a waterpark.. (kids!!!) but an adult pool too, not bad location and under £25 a night. So set til 7th February.

We provisionally book Phi Phi as its a crazy place, for a few days fun after Koh Lanta.

And then Khao Lak. Khao Lak is beachy plus near some national parks for tropical greenery and animals!

My choice, as Pete not wanting to travel up north this time where the big animals roam.
