1 Mar Back to Tangalle
We spend the morning on Bathigama Beach.
We debated where to stay due to the Middle East war. We see queues for the petrol station on the way to Tangalle.
Worried we should have gone up towards Colombo and our flight home instead of even further south!
But we didn’t! Gulp.. south we went.
We check in to Four Seasons Home Stay. Ignore the name- £33 pn inc breakfast.
We have a side sea view!
It’s great to be back in Tangalle. The nice long beach and quiet bars.
We return to our fav spot and meet the same English blokes holding up the bar.
It’s sad to admit but it’s good to hear English voices now and then instead of Russian or German.
2 – 3 Mar Beach & Mallika Bar
We have a very very noisy whiney dog living next door. It’s slow torture that even the ear plugs can’t stop.
So it’s lazy beach days and day snoozing.
I swim. Pete can’t – still healing.
Nothing to see with my goggles. But clear clean water.
4 Mar Shanika Hotel
I miscalculated so we had to stay another night in Tangalle before we head back to Bathigama Turtle Point.
We can’t bear the noise at the current place so check in for a night round the corner.
It’s 9k – about £23 – no breakie. But a sea view and quiet Big double bed – each!
The waves are big today and Pete fi ally gets in the sea. He’s in his element!
We walk right to the next beach south, it’s nice and empty. But again because no tourists there is a lot of litter.
It’s been a proper sun day 😀
