Day 4 – The Land of Smiles. Unbelievable… we still don’t sleep. Bed too hard. Head still wired to uk time. But we are travelling today. We manage to get up in time to make checkout by 11am. Zombies.

Day 1 – Singapore again! Wow another 13.5 hour flight and we are back where we started a year ago!! Landing in Singapore we are so much more relaxed than last year, and head for the metro. We jump off at Aljunied. We are staying in Galang in the red light district at Hotel 81…

Hanoi and Singapore Part II 12 – 14 Apr 24
Day 86 – Farewell Vietnam After a great nights sleep onboard ship in Halong Bay, we decline the 6.30am visit to the caves as we’ve seen enough of caves. So it’s a lie-in! We don’t make 6am tai chi either.

Halong Bay 10 – 11 Apr 24
Day 84 – Halong Bay Up for breakfast and to start the bus journey to Halong. 3 hours that we didn’t expect, stupidly thought Halong was right next to Hanoi!

Hanoi 6 – 9 Apr 24
Day 80 – Hanoi We leave our tranquil village of Tam Coc and board a minibus to Hanoi. Our last stop in Vietnam. The journey to Hanoi was only 2 hours, but it leaves us a bit sad going from serene beauty to another grey city. We hope we find the love for Hanoi everyone…

Tam Coc (Ninh Binh) 3 – 5 Apr 24
Day 76 – Tam Coc and a Reunion Our sleeper train from Hue to Ninh Binh was uneventful. We manage about 4 hours sleep, not bad. But not great as we are meeting Pete’s old mate for a bike ride this morning!

Hue and Train to Ninh Binh 1 – 2 Apr 24
Day 74 – Train Journey To Hue Today we leave Hoi An from Dan Nang and get a beautiful, scenic train journey up the coast to Hue. We try ‘soft seat’ class 2. We were warned it would be noisy.

An Bang Beach (Hoi An) 27 – 31 Mar 24
Day 69 – Dan Nang and Hoi An We arrive by train into Da Nang early hours of the morning and after a short Grab journey, we checked into the Halina Hotel and Apartment. Another lovely hotel, just back from the beach with a rooftop pool and great breakfast. All for £23! Staff our lovely…

Da Nang by Train – 26 Mar 24
Day 68 – British, French and Vietnamese We only booked one night in Nha Trang as we wanted to get to Da Nang. Our hotel for the night is the 4 Star Apus Hotel. Cost us £12 including breakfast and a rooftop pool!
