27 Feb No Turtles

After a massive breakfast again we get a taxi back to the coast.

Another homestay. It’s clean but very small.

We’ve come here to go to Turtle Point.

We wander left at the beach. The first patch of beach is manky and there is not much around.

We always feel like we don’t like a place when we first arrive. This is no different.

We can see sunbeds further round thankfully. We end up in a nice we swimming bit but no turtles.

Feb 28 Turtles

We head right at the beach this time and come acoss a wonderful little bay with beach bars and snorklers in the sea. A good sign.

It has rock pools. It’s teeming with tiny fish and crabs and sea urchins! I am in heaven.

Pete can’t go in the water yet. I go in with goggles. It’s murky with sand as its a bit choppy.

But I eventually find a handful of fish including a big parrot fish. Not quite Thailand!

Then a nearly swim into a turtle. So cool.

We have a beer watching the sun be wiped out in the haze… rather than a sunset.

We go to The Good Kitchen for food. It’s great. There is a fab duo playing a violin and a sax.

We’ve booked to come back for 3 more nights in the beach hotel. By then Pete should be able to swim!
