Day 19 Chomview kids park

We have breakfast and swim for a couple of hours before Pete grabs the tuk tuk couple from next door.

The driver, our bags, me, Pete and Mrs Tuk Tuk jump in.. she’s blagging a lift to see friends.

No English is spoken but he says ‘Chomview kap’ many times, assuring us he knew where he was going. He does. Unlike all the other drivers we’ve had.

We have to wait at the pool for an hour before we are taken to the room.

Huge. Quiet aircon. Soft bed. Surprisingly no sound of small screaming children. Tick tick tick tick!!

Love it here immediately. Great view over the many cartoon figures around the place.

View of the jungle outback.

We head to Relax Beach which we already know and love. Dinner in the bar is a bit shit, but a great sunset.

We find bananas and greek-ish yoghurt amongst the cats at the local store.

Looking forward to a home made breakfast.

Day 20 Lanta Animal Welfare

We’d booked the morning tour of LAW, 15 min’s away.

We are up and in the gym before breakfast and the walk to the centre.

I was hoping for lots of animal cuddles. Long trousers and a tshirt for me.

But advised straight away the animals are there because most are traumatised… children should know it’s not petting zoo. I am disappointed.

Tour is very good and we do get to meet some dogs.. one in a wheel harness.. and some friendly cats.

Has a nice wee tea shop and heart shaped cookies – contributing to their funds.. obviously!

After we decide to go back to the room and have a swim before hitting the beach.

We have dinner on the beach at a much better restaurant.

Dessert of bananas and ice-cream at the Yellow Bistro near our hotel on way home.

Cards all nights. We learn gin rummy. Pete loses.

Day 21 Theeeee Beach

Another lazy morning. We go for a longer walk, still not far, looking for Long Beach.

We’ve not been to it before, and we end up before the start of it (southern end) in Turtle Bay.

It’s like a film set. Stunning. Clear water. Few wee bars and massage places. Big resorts – I manage a sneaky book swap. Love it.

We pick a spot and blend in.

After an amazingly clear swim we paddle thru the water to get on to Long Beach. They are separated by an inlet you need to wade through.

We love Long beach too. But Turtle Bay is like a secret beach. Love. Love. Love ❤️

We decide on a massage whilst listening to the waves. Mine okay but Pete gets a female weightlifter and is pummeled hard. Brilliant.

We finish with my first glass of wine.. price is thru the roof now so I’ve been on beer.. whilst watching the sunset.

The Yellow Bistro near our hotel sees us stop for dinner.

Day 22 Boat Trip

We booked the trip through the hotel. Not like us as they are usually a rip off.

We shouldn’t have – Rattana Boat trips are awful compared to Tin Adventures we used last year.

All starts well, pick up on time, until they cram 42 of us on to a boat for about 30.

Not the luxury speedboat ambiance we’d hoped for. And no life jackets. Every other boat we see has them.

We are stuck at the back too. Deafened.

We do get to visit 4 other Island though.

The first is for snorkeling.

We are dropped into the water with two other boats full of fully-dressed squealing Thais. Not a good start.

But we did find a lot fish and a quiet spot.

Last back on the boat due to jelly fish appearing. I got a few stings… but panicked a LOT…. I was surrounded by them and the boat was beeping to go!!

Next stop was the Emerald Cave on Ko Muk. Was really weird – swimming through a dark cave tunnel to come out into a small beach.

Was a good experience. Lots of people though as expected.

Made us feel like we shouldn’t be there and the place probably used to be a haven for young fish. ????

Third stop was Koh Kradan. Lovely beach area for lunch. Really stunning.

Made us want to try to swap our bookings for some time on Ko Muk or Koh Kradan. But all full. Not surprised.

Last stop was Koh Ngai..nice beach and time for a beer.

Very laid back small place. Alas millions of small red purple jellyfish meant no more snorkeling.

The trip was okay, the locations were lovely.

But total lack of information (only knew what Islands we were on by google maps) and no life jackets for the waaay too many day trippers put a damper on it.

Once on land it was back to the bar on the beach for food and sunset.

Pete then absolutely annihilated me at gin rummy. Magic.

Day 23 Lazy as it gets

Last day at Chomview.

I drag Pete to the gym and then we have nice wee breakfast on the balcony.

With a bit of cat love x

Swim and a bit of a tan reading books around the pool.

We head out for a lunch and stop at Coffee Cup Club. Very very european.

Then back on to Turtle Beach. We meet a three people from Cornwall and Pete gets a chance to chat Janner for a time.

We end up in a small local cheap place for food – Yellow curry was fabulous. This time I beat Pete at cards.

Perfect ened to our Lanta trip.

Hello Phi Phi tomorrow.
