Day 60 – Mui Ne and Back to the Beach
Wow, day 60!!
Can’t believe it.
We make our way to Mui Ne as a last minute change of plan.
We feel the need for beach ⛱️.
We get split up on the bus, I’m at the front, Pete at the back.
Super new and comfy.
I spend 4 hours talking to a lovely lady called Lorna from Woking.
Lorna and her husband Neal are avid travellers. I take mental notes!
Meanwhile Pete is fighting for space with an overweight Chinese girl who’s constantly on her phone.
Great journey.
Our hotel has a rooftop pool and views of the beach with its kite surfers!
We swim and chill.
Lovely Hotel.

Once we feel human again we go out and explore.
Seems all the beach land has been sold to resorts.
We eventually get to the beach through a derelict building.
The beach is super busy with surfers types. It’s def a spectator sport for us; they all look like pros.
But no beach bars for watching.
We feel a bit despondent at not being able to swim, but find a great wee, super cheap restaurant across from our hotel.
Draught beer for 50p help a bit.

Day 61 – Exploring Mui Ne
Hire a moped, for £3. This one was temperamental.
Locks us out the seat and chooses when to start.. or not.
Still…for £3!
The sea breeze always cheers us up and we have a great trip bearing left out our hotel up the coast.
We find a beautiful fishing village.
Brightly coloured boats and little circular coconut boats.
There are old ladies separating fish and seafood into bamboo buckets.
No pictures. I always feel intrusive taking pictures of working people, even though they make the best pics ????.
So a video of the bay instead.
Quick stop to admire red sand dunes.
Food as usual dominates.
We find a great restaurant. The homemade spinach ravioli was amazing.
We turn round and head past our hotel, that’s where we find easy access to the kite surfers beach. Grr.
Turns out the best beach and a few touristy places are opposite to where we went last night and on the moped this morning!
No towels but we head into the surf. The beach is practically empty.
The water of the South China Sea is clean and warm with big waves and little fish to watch.
We hop back on the moped, albeit a bit wet.
Back to the hotel, happy but sorry we only booked 2 nights.
Later we eat in the same place and go for a mooch.
I pick up another Vietnam hat.
Could not be more of a tourist!
We then meet Lorna and Neal and have a lovely bottle of red wine whilst we swap stories… and numbers.

Great company, makes us even more sorry we aren’t staying longer.
All in all, we really liked Mui Ne and could easily have stayed a night or 2 longer.
However, there’s still so much to see and we are conscious of the time we have left.
