I have a real love/hate relationship with contact lenses. Sometimes I can wear them and not even notice they are in, other times it feels like there’s a piece of grit stuck in my eye.
I’ve been wearing glasses and contact lenses since I was sixteen years old. Primarily for vanity reasons, I wore contact lenses more often than glasses.
About fifteen years ago I underwent laser eye surgery. It was a total success, and I enjoyed many years being contact lens and glasses free.
Unfortunately age caught up with me, and my eyesight started to deteriorate again into my forties.
I started wearing glasses again – you know, the cool, designer types, along with prescription sun glasses.
But due to my job as a fire fighter, I really need contact lenses. Plus I don’t like wearing glasses on an evening out.
