Day 40 Bus to Pattaya

We are up and heading to the bus station for a 4 hour journey to Pattaya – south of Bangkok.

We regret this now as Hua Hin was a grower.

The relaxed vibe and older crowd made for a quiet life.

The breakfast seem much better with time.

The VIP 24 bus is spacious and clean.

The only down side is no stops as there is a toilet on board.

You can smell it… really badly when anyone opens the door.

It’s quicker than expected though and we check in to Jomtien Beach Residences at 2pm.

We LURVE our new place. Part seaview upgrade.

Kitchen and space… lots of space.

We go explore.

There are loads of deckchairs covering the beach. Sand is like builders sand.

Lots of Russian signs – hmmm.

Big food market nearby is a plus.

We grab breakfast stuff and lots of fresh fruit and head back to the apartment.

We try the market for food. Food choice there is amazing!!!!! Well for meat eaters.

I do manage to buy a bottle of Thai red wine!

The music choice though is loud and Russian.

Flying ants everywhere too.

So early night.

Day 41 Pool day.

It’s grey today, perfect walking weather. But Pete is limping.

His old groin injury is back – means he gets sharp pains and his leg goes. Eek.

He’s had it now for about 5 days – may be after the 5mile walk or the gym sessions in Hua Hin.

So I swim and swim in the pool, the sea looks rank.

We then watch both Ted movies in between me sitting outside and bird watching.

I see these big blue and black birds!

I try the ‘wine’… what are we drinking?!?!

I can’t describe it. We obviously drink it. WASTE NOT.

It will need lemonade before we try it again!!

We head in the other direction out the hotel in the evening.

We reach a much better quieter food market.

Selling weird stuff like crocodile on a stick.

They also have small pigs to pet… or to eat it seems ????.

Day 42 Morning run

I go for a run. Pete still hobbling.

The beach is awful.

Slime on the top. People swimming in it!!!

And a building site as they are replacing bits of the road and creating a promenade.

Which means dragging loads of sand off the beach to make pavements.

Another food market at night.

Day 43 Hospital Visit and Kite Festival

Last night after icing, a lump appeared on Pete. He was sure it was a hernia.

So we speak to Insurance company and head to Hospital in Pattaya.

An hour later Pete has bern told he has early osteoarthritis in his hip. No cure. Old age.

Not a happy bunny.

We find a mall for lunch and I find some veggie sushi…

Then watch a kite festival.

Before wandering down for a closer look.

Bigger than the fuertaventura festival we went to in November.

Day 44 Pool day

We have a pool morning and then walk along the beach towards Pattaya.

Much too much walking for Pete.

Get to see squirrels on the beach!

We stop for a beer.

We investigate Jomtien Walking Street And turns out….its a very gay-man hangout.

I make the mistake of ordering spicy food at night – from our local market.

NOt at cocka2 bar, nor guyguy bar nor coqtale bar nor 69 bar, since noone beckoned us in for a change ????

Day 45 Back to Pattaya on the Baht Bus

Early gym visit for me before we head back to Pattaya to get Pete a haircut.

I have been a little under the weather after having the hottest food on earth last night.

Easy day again on Pattaya Beach.

FABULOUS leg massage at night!

Day 46 Hobbling Pete

Quiet day around the apartment. We walk along to a market looking for a mouse for Petes laptop.

We come across a smaller market and a good selection of pubs.

Clearly a tourist haunt to find nice ladies!

Day 47 Last Night in Jomtien

Another relaxing day at the gym and pool.

We don’t venture far again. But manage to get coconuts the size of Pete’s head.

Day 48 Fly to Da Nang

Overnight in Bangkok for flight tomo to Da Nang.
