Day 86 – Farewell Vietnam After a great nights sleep onboard ship in Halong Bay, we decline the 6.30am visit to the caves as we’ve seen enough of caves. So it’s a lie-in! We don’t make 6am tai chi either.

Day 84 – Halong Bay Up for breakfast and to start the bus journey to Halong. 3 hours that we didn’t expect, stupidly thought Halong was right next to Hanoi!

Day 76 – Tam Coc and a Reunion Our sleeper train from Hue to Ninh Binh was uneventful. We manage about 4 hours sleep, not bad. But not great as we are meeting Pete’s old mate for a bike ride this morning!

Day 74 – Train Journey To Hue Today we leave Hoi An from Dan Nang and get a beautiful, scenic train journey up the coast to Hue. We try ‘soft seat’ class 2. We were warned it would be noisy.

Day 68 – British, French and Vietnamese We only booked one night in Nha Trang as we wanted to get to Da Nang. Our hotel for the night is the 4 Star Apus Hotel. Cost us £12 including breakfast and a rooftop pool!
